The Wykeham Collegiate Admissions 2024-2025: Collegiate Term Dates 2024
The Wykeham Collegiate accepts applications throughout the year, and for several years in advance of the year of entry. All girls seeking a place at The Wykeham Collegiate need to have an interview and an appropriate assessment, depending on the grade. To submit your application, or for any queries relating to the admissions process, please email admissions@twc.org.za.
The admissions season is accessible to candidates who are qualified and have all the required documentation. The Wykeham Collegiate advises applicants to apply as soon as possible before the submission deadline.

ACADEMIC STUDIES & LANGUAGES
The Wykeham Collegiate follows the national curriculum of South Africa and writes the examinations of the Independent Examinations Board (IEB)
Languages
They are an English medium school and English Home Language is a compulsory Grade 12 subject. Girls seeking additional extensions in English may take Advanced Programme English from Grade 11. Afrikaans and isiZulu are offered at the First Additional Language level. Languages at the Second Additional Language level are available but are at extra cost to parents.
MATHEMATICS
Both Core Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy are offered from Grade 10 onwards and in Grades 8 and 9, all girls study Core Mathematics.
For girls with sound Mathematical ability, Advanced Programme Mathematics is also offered from Grade 10 and is recommended for those girls considering careers in Health Sciences, Accounting Sciences, and Engineering disciplines.
SPORT & EXERCISE SCIENCE
TWC is one of only a few schools in South Africa to offer this subject from grades 10 to 12.
Apart from the academic requirements of the course which include physiology, anatomy, and several sports-orientated areas of study, the girls also become qualified coaches in several sports, do first aid courses, strapping courses, and several other sports-related qualifications.
Document and information required for the admission of a learner
For both the online and the manual application, the following documents are required:
- Id or unabridged birth certificate of the child
- One ID photo of the learner
- Latest school report
- ID copies of both parents/guardians
- Copy of Court Order if the learner is placed under Guardianship
- Clearance Certificate of previous school & latest statement
- Proof of residence (water & lights acc)
- Copy of Divorce Agreement, if applicable
- Copy of the Maintenance Court Order if applicable
- Copy of medical aid card
- Copy of death certificate (if applicable)
- Proof of income for both parents/guardians
- Proof of unemployment for both parents/guardians (if applicable: Letter from Dept of Labour)
- Copy of grant received
- Copy of the child’s Immunisation Card

ADMISSIONS
JUNIOR SCHOOL APPLICATIONS: There is no strict closing date for applications for Junior School. However, interviews and assessments are generally started early in the year for available places for the following year.
It is recommended that applications for the following academic year are submitted before the end of Term 1 of the year preceding entry.
GRADE 8 APPLICATIONS: The closing date for applications for Grade 8 is usually at the end of April of the Grade 7 year. Interviews are started early in the year and places are offered in May.
SENIOR SCHOOL APPLICATIONS: Applications for Grades 9 to Grade 11 are accepted throughout the year and placement is dependent on space being available.

OFFER OF ADMISSION
When a girl is offered a place by the school, a non-refundable admission fee, equivalent to a month’s fees (boarding and tuition for boarders) becomes payable.
Parents who reside outside of South Africa are required to make an additional deposit equivalent to one term’s boarding and tuition fee, and this will increase on an annual basis to match the termly school fee for the current year. The deposit will be offset against the balance of the girl’s final account from the school. Collegiate term dates 2024
