Alexandra High School Admissions 2024-2025: School Application Forms 2024

Application for admission to the Alexandra High School, Online academic session is opening on 1 September and closing on 14 October 2024 for all students. Applicants are to visit http://www.alexhigh.org.za/ online and download an application form 2024 in pdf format.

Parents are recommended to provide all relevant documentation during the admissions season when applying their children to Alexandra High School.

Academics at Alexandra High School are of a high standard.

They have a dedicated teaching staff that is highly qualified and invests significant time and effort into molding their learners to achieve their potential.

Class sizes range between 36 and 38 learners per class for Grades 8 and 9. In Grades 10, 11 and 12 class sizes are generally smaller as learners specialize in their chosen subjects.

General Education and Training (GET) level: Grades 8 and 9

Grade 8s have all 10 subjects, but Grade 9 learners select the First Additional Language they will take to Grade 12.

Further Education and Training (FET) level: Grades 10, 11 and 12

At the end of Grade 9 learners have a variety of subjects to choose from. Subject packages offer the flexibility of combinations of subjects to allow learners to develop themselves academically in a number of areas. school application forms 2024

Learners are required to do at least seven subjects and must select one subject from each of the following lines:

• Line 1:  English (Home Language).
• Line 2:  Afrikaans (First Additional), isiZulu (First Additional).
• Line 3:  Life Orientation.
• Line 4:  Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy.
• Line 5:  Physical Sciences, Business Studies, Life Sciences, Tourism.
• Line 6:  Life Sciences, History, Engineering & Graphics Design, Hospitality & Catering, Visual Arts, Accounting.
• Line 7:  Dramatic Arts, Information Technology, Computer Applications Technology, Geography, Business Studies.

 

Document and information required for the admission of a learner

• A copy of the learner’s birth certificate.
• The School’s prescribed application form.
• Proof that the learner has been immunized.
• An original transfer card for the learner where he/she is transferring from one school (independent or public) to the School.
• A copy of any reports that will assist the School in understanding the educational needs of the learner.
• Proof of the residential address(es) of the learner and both parents (which proof may include a copy of a title deed, existing lease agreement, and/or utility bill or bank statement not older than three months).

SCHOOL FEES

At Alexandra High School the school fees and boarding fees are kept very reasonable. Alex offers parents value for money with regard to all the facilities they can provide. The annual budget is negotiated and trimmed with parents’ pockets in mind, but always with the best interests of their learners at the forefront of their thinking.

School Fees for 2024 are as follows:

• Tuition Fees: R 22 000-00 per annum.
• Payable in 10 monthly installments of R 2 200-00 from January to October.
• Boarding Fees: R 58  000-00 per annum (R 14 500-00 per quarter)
• Weekly Boarders (minimum stay of 1 term): R 13 500 per term

All fees must be paid in advance.
