Michaelhouse Admission 2024-2025: Michaelhouse School Fees
Michaelhouse is a school of established heritage with an innate respect for the individual. It is this long-held tradition that distinguishes Michaelhouse from other senior boys’ schools.
Michaelhouse invites all students to apply for admission in the academic year 2024-2025. Therefore, applicants who wish to study at Michaelhouse must submit an online application for admission via https://www.michaelhouse.org/admissions/registration/ and start applying before the application closing date is due.
All registrations for possible entry into Michaelhouse in 2030 and beyond will not attract the R950.00 registration fee. Applications received after 31 January 2024 for Grade 8 2023 will be placed on our waitlist. No application will be processed without proof of payment.

Document and information required for the admission of a learner
For both the online and the manual application, the following documents are required:
- Id or unabridged birth certificate of the child
- One ID photo of the learner
- Latest school report
- ID copies of both parents/guardians
- Copy of Court Order if the learner is placed under Guardianship
- Clearance Certificate of previous school & latest statement
- Proof of residence (water & lights acc)
- Copy of the Divorce Agreement, if applicable
- Copy of the Maintenance Court Order if applicable
- Copy of medical aid card
- Copy of death certificate (if applicable)
- Proof of income for both parents/guardians
- Proof of unemployment for both parents/guardians (if applicable: Letter from Dept of Labour)
- Copy of grant received
- Copy of the child’s Immunisation Card
Admission Policy
Michaelhouse is non-sectarian in its admission policy. Entry in E Block (Grade 8) level is determined by previous academic performance, a personal interview with the Rector or a Deputy Rector, a copy of the most recent school report, and a confidential report from the applicant’s Headmaster.
Entrance Procedure
Boys are admitted to D and C Blocks (Grades 9 and 10) only if a place becomes available. Entry is determined by previous academic performance, a personal interview with the Rector, a copy of the most recent school report, and a confidential report from the applicant’s Headmaster.
Registration
Registration may be completed at any time from the applicant’s birth onwards, preferably by no later than the end of his Grade 6 year. During the Grade 6 year the registered applicant and his parents are required to visit Michaelhouse for a tour of the School and an interview with the Rector.
Fee Structure
Fees and levies are invoiced in ten equal installments commencing December to September. Debit orders are a prerequisite.
