The following are the subjects offered at Wartburg Kirchdorf School:
THE FOUNDATION PHASE (Grades 00 to 3)
Children are equipped with life skills with a view to producing socially and emotionally well-adjusted and resourceful human beings.
The Pre-School encourages children between the ages of 3 and 6 to develop a positive self-image through the development of social, emotional, communication, and concentration skills, gross and fine motor coordination, auditory and visual discrimination as well as problem-solving skills.
In grades 1 and 2 emphasis is placed on the basics of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. Afrikaans and isiZulu are introduced as additional languages in Grade 1.
THE INTERMEDIATE PHASE (Grades 4 to 6)
The syllabus in this phase is geared toward developing skills in Languages (English, Afrikaans, and isiZulu), Mathematics, Natural and Social Sciences, Technology, Economics and Management Sciences, Arts and Culture as well as Life Skills. German is offered as an additional language to German-speaking learners.
GENERAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (GET) – Grades 7 to 9
Learners are subjected to a compulsory range of learning areas, which include:
- Language (English, Afrikaans OR IsiZulu, and German)
- Social Sciences (History and Geography)
- Technology
- Mathematics
- Natural Sciences
- Arts and Culture
- Economics and Management Sciences
- Life Orientation
FURTHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING PHASE (FET) – Grades 10 to 12
Grade 10 learners enter into a more specialized phase of their school career and are required under NCS guidelines to complete a subject package of 7 learning areas from the following lines. The 4 Fundamentals are compulsory, while one Elective can be chosen from each of lines 5 to 7.

Document and information required for the admission of a learner
Please ensure that the application form is completed in full with the following documentation attached:
- A copy of the applicant’s UNABRIDGED birth certificate. If you do not have an UNABRIDGED certificate, please make an application at the local Home Affairs office and bring along a copy of your receipt, along with a copy of the ABRIDGED certificate if you have one. Once you receive the UNABRIDGED certificate, please remember to give us a copy.
- A copy of the Identity Document of both parents – Should either parent be deceased, a copy of the death certificate is required.
- The latest salary slips of both parents.
- If self-employed, Certificate of Registration, SARS Number, and Statement of Income and Expenditure (NOT bank statement) of the previous year.
- Your latest rates and electricity accounts (Affidavits or lease agreements are not accepted). If these are not available please submit your official Tax Assessment (less than one-year-old); valid television license document OR a bank statement (less than three months old). At least 2 of the above-mentioned documents need to be submitted.
- A copy of the applicant’s latest school report.
- Applicant’s current school fee account.
- A copy of the applicant’s Clinic Card (as proof of vaccination).
- A passport-size photo (or any recent small photo) of the applicant.
- High School Applicants are to complete the questionnaire in their own handwriting.
- A non-refundable disbursement fee of R250.00 per application. Payment is to be made electronically into the School’s banking account (see details below) OR at your nearest First National Bank.
- The Financial Clearance / Confidential Report is to be completed by the applicant’s current School. School Subjects

Wartburg Kirchdorf School Fees
Wartburg Kirchdorf School is a FEE PAYING SCHOOL and successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable acceptance deposit of R2 000.00 which will be credited to the first month’s fees. Such payment will confirm the child’s admission into the School.
PLEASE NOTE:
SCHOOL FEES PAID IN FULL BEFORE THE END OF FEBRUARY WILL RECEIVE A 5% DISCOUNT.
SCHOOL FEES PAID IN FULL BEFORE THE END OF MARCH WILL RECEIVE A 3% DISCOUNT.
