African Leadership Academy Admissions 2024-2025: Academy Application Deadline 2024
African Leadership Academy Admissions is the period within the academic syllabus that accept students who have an interest to apply and study at the school in the academic year. African Leadership Academy (ALA) seeks to enrol the most outstanding young leaders, aged 15 – 18, from across Africa and around the world. We are on a mission to find brilliant young leaders who have the potential to transform the future of our continent. Are you one of them?
Selection Process
- Application Deadline:
ALA’s selection process is extremely competitive. The Academy receives several thousand applications from a diverse array of African countries each year. These applicants come from a wide range of social, economic, cultural & educational backgrounds. The application includes short questions and essays and must be submitted with academic transcripts. Please check the admissions timelines below to confirm the appropriate application deadline for you. Applying in the Early Decision round empowers you to make your pre-university choices early.
- Finalist Interviews:
At this stage, finalists are selected to attend finalist events held in person or virtually, across the continent. At these events, finalists write entrance exams, participate in group activities & are interviewed one-on-one by the ALA Admissions team. Finalists are also required to submit teacher recommendations.
- Selection:
The hardest part of the selection process: the Academy is only able to select 120 students from the pool of extraordinary finalists to attend the Academy. All finalists will be notified of their admissions status by the end of April 2025 and possibly earlier if the application is received in the Early Decision round.

- 1st Application deadline (Early Decision): 16 September 2024
- ED Notification: 16 November 2024
- 2nd Application deadline (Regular Decision): 09 January 2025
- Final Notifications: 24 April 2025

African Leadership Academy (ALA) seeks to enrol the most outstanding young leaders from across Africa and around the world. ALA is not only looking for young people who are smart and excel in the academic environment, they are looking for young people with the potential to lead and impact the world around them through their courage, initiative and innovation.
