The academic phases are divided as follows:

• Foundation Phase: Grade PR to Grade 3
• Intermediate Phase: Grade 4 to Grade 6
• Senior Phase: Grade 7 to Grade 9
• FET Phase: Grade 10 to Grade 12

 

Document and information required for the admission of a learner

For both the online and the manual applications, the following documents are required. For the online application, these documents must be scanned in and attached to the application.

• Id or unabridged birth certificate of the child
• One ID photo of the learner
• Latest school report
• ID copies of both parents/guardians
• Copy of Court Order if the learner is placed under Guardianship
• Clearance Certificate of previous school & latest statement
• Proof of residence (water & lights acc)
• Copy of Divorce Agreement, if applicable
• Copy of the Maintenance Court Order if applicable
• Copy of medical aid card
• Copy of death certificate (if applicable)
• Proof of income for both parents/guardians
• Proof of unemployment for both parents/guardians (if applicable: Letter from Dept of Labour)
• Copy of grant received
• Copy of the child’s Immunisation Card

PREREQUISITES BEFORE AN APPLICATION IS LOOKED AT:

An application will only be processed once:

The ‘APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO BEACONHURST SCHOOL’ forms has been completed in full.
Thereafter all the documentation requested in the application form must be attached.
Applications will NOT be processed by the Admission Committee unless the natural parent /legal guardian or the person who formally in writing undertakes to fulfil the obligations of a parent to Beaconhurst School:

Accepts and signs the ‘UNDERTAKING BY PARENTS/GUARDIANS/ SPONSORS’ on pages 3 and 4 of the
‘APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO BEACONHURST SCHOOL’ form.

Completes and signs the ‘CHECKLIST FORM’ regarding the exemption of parents from the payment of school fees on page 5 of the ‘APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO BEACONHURST SCHOOL’

The person who formally undertakes in writing to fulfil the obligations of a parent when enrolling somebody else’s child at Beaconhurst School must submit the learner’s unabridged birth certificate, parent’s ID documents/passports/death certificates, etc. and all other relevant documentation requested by the school.

The Admission Committee is appointed by the School Governing Body. The Admission Committee processes the application forms and makes recommendations to the Principal of the School.
