Greenside High School Admissions 2024-2025: School Application Forms 2024

The Greenside High School Admissions is open for the academic year 2024-2025 on the school’s portal to all students who have been waiting for the school’s admission. Students are advised enrolling at the school early before the closing date is due and also remember to attach the required documentation.

Greenside High School Subjects Offered

The list below is the subjects offered at the school for the academic year:

Grade 8 and 9

The subjects listed below are compulsory for all Grade 8 and 9 learners, with the exception of the choice between Afrikaans or isiZulu as a secondary language. The subjects are:

• English (1st Language)
• Afrikaans OR isiZulu (1s Additional Language)
• Mathematics
• Natural Sciences (NS)
• Human Social Sciences (HSS)
• Economic and Management Sciences (EMS)
• Technology (Tech)
• Life Orientation (LO)
• Creative Arts

Grade 10, 11 and 12

Once a learner reaches Grade 10, they are required to take 7 subjects in order to obtain their National Senior Certificate at the end of Grade 12. These seven subjects must consist of English, the first additional language taken in Grade 8 and 9 (i.e. Afrikaans or Zulu), Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy, Life Orientation, and three subjects of the learner’s choice. These subjects are taken through to Grade 11 and 12. Subjects offered are:

Compulsory Subjects

• English
• Afrikaans OR isiZulu
• Mathematics OR Mathematical Literacy
• Life Orientation

And three of the following:

• Accounting
• Business Studies
• Computer Applications Technology (CAT)
• Consumer Studies
• Engineering Graphics and Design
• Geography
• History
• Information Technology (IT)
• Life Sciences
• Physical Sciences
• Visual Arts
• Dramatic Arts
• Electrical Technology

It is possible for learners to take additional subjects ON TOP of the subjects listed above, held outside of the school. They will need to be taken as 8th and 9th Subjects, and are subject to Grade Head approval. Ask your Grade Head for more information.

• Advanced Programme Mathematics
• Advanced Programme English

 

Document and information required for the admission of a learner.

In terms of the application and admission process, you are advised to get the following documentation in order as soon as possible:

• ID-size photograph of the learner.
• Certified photocopy of the UNABRIDGED Birth Certificate of the learner.
• Certified photocopy of the learner’s previous two years’ academic reports (final report for 2019 and the most recent report for 2020).
• Certified photocopy of Immunisation Card. (Not compulsory)
• Certified photocopy of both parents’/legal guardians’ ID documents.
• Certified photocopy of parents’ or legal guardians’ death certificates, if deceased.
• Current proof of employment for both parents/legal guardians.
• If unemployed, please provide an affidavit to this effect.
• The current Proof of Residence (original utility bill with the physical address).
• If the parents are not South African citizens, there must be an original work permit for each parent, and a valid study permit for the learner.
• If the learner is adopted or fostered, a certified photocopy of the court order must be provided.

 

How to apply for admission to Greenside High School

• Go to the official website of the school
• At the top menu of the page, click on the “Apply for Admission” tab
• All new applicants must complete the application form before applying. They will not process applications without filling out the forms.
• Attach the necessary document when applying
• Complete and submit your application for evaluation
