Eligible Requirement for Admission at Durban Girls College

In order to complete this online application, you will need to have the following electronic documents available in digital format so that you can upload them during the application process:

• Please download and complete this form DGC Fee Clearance to upload the balance of the documents below. This is an ISASA requirement.
• A copy of your current year and previous year’s school fee statement. This is an ISASA requirement.
• A copy of a recent passport-sized photo of the Applicant (maximum size 200kb)
• Copy of ID Document or Birth Certificate of Applicant
• Copies of Parent/Guardian ID Documents
• If not a citizen of South Africa, a copy of a Residence Permit or Study Permit
• If transferring from another school, copies of the most recent school reports.
• If the Applicant has already been attending a school in South Africa, you will need her LURITS Number. (This can be obtained from her current school.)
• Proof of Payment for the Application Fee of R850.

 

Admission Procedures

Additional Information:

The “Application for Admission” form must be completed, signed by both parents, and returned accompanied by the application fee. Parents are advised to seek admission early as places are frequently oversubscribed before the admission date.
 In the year preceding the proposed admission, parents will be contacted by post. If no letter has been received from the school by March of the year preceding the admission year, it is the parent’s responsibility to contact the school.

Girls will be required to sit an entrance examination in English, Mathematics, and/or other key subjects or, in the case of Grades 00, R, and 1, a school readiness assessment.

Parents will be notified whether or not their daughters have been accepted. Girls are accepted into Grade 00 from the year in which they turn four or five (depending on their date of birth). Girls are accepted into Grade R from the year in which they turn five or six (depending on their date of birth) and into Grade 1 from the year in which they turn six or seven (depending on their date of birth). Girls and parents will be afforded an opportunity to have a tour around the school and will be invited to their Open Evening or Open Day. College term dates 2024
